Trigger points are those tender or hard knots you feel and most oftentimes ignore. They are commonly located in the muscles of the neck, shoulders, low back and legs, and have implications in all types of muscle pain.
It's very common for people to develop these trigger points and can also be present in some children and babies. Most of us have experienced pain or tenderness during our lifetime due to these knots (active trigger points) or have experienced pain building up over that lifetime due to inactive trigger points. These tender spots often make life harder than it already is and are frequently caused by posture, sports, hobbies, habits, stress, scar tissue, metabolic disorders, vitamin deficiencies, obesity, anorexia and psychological factors, to list a few.
Becoming educated about your body, and about how these factors could be causing your painful trigger points, will further enable you to reclaim your life as yours.
